INTRODUCTION
Our Founder & President: Faith John
Faith John was surrounded by music since she was young. It’s become an integral part of her life, and so she combined her passion for music with her love of teaching to create Hope in Every Note, a non-profit music organization dedication to giving back to the music community, founded in 2024.

Faith John is 17 years old and is a junior in high school. In voice, she was selected for a broadway master class by Zachary Piser and coached by Oyoyo Joi Bonner. Additionally, she also participated in masterclasses with Emily Kristen Morris and Telly Leung. She has won the National Walgreens Concerto Competition(Voice division) five years in a row. She was chosen for the ILMEA All-State Honors Chorus, as a Soprano 1. Additionally, she placed top 5 in her section at District 7. Regarding theater, she has also performed in various theater productions, starring as Ariel(The little mermaid), Matilda(Matilda), Elsa(Frozen), and Cinderella(Into the Woods).
As a violinist, Faith John placed first in the Illinois Music Association’s Senior Classical category. She served as concertmaster of the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory’s Concert Orchestra, and was also involved in the Lang Lang Project. Faith has accompanied several choirs and has also performed at various events with her chamber group. She was chosen for the ILMEA All-State Honors orchestra, in which she was 1st violin, 5th chair. At her high school, she was selected in the Concerto Competition to play a violin solo accompanied by the orchestra.
Our Vice President: Maggie Tess
Maggie Tess has had a strong passion for music from an early age. When presented the idea of Hope in Every Note, she saw it as another opportunity to not only express her love for music, but share it with others. This additionally allows her to work with children, a strong passion she hopes to pursue in a career.

Maggie Tess is a 16 year old junior at Barrington High School. With a background in both vocal performance and theater, she has been heavily exposed to music from a young age. She has participated in a curricular choir for the past eight years and was recently selected for the ILMEA All-State Chorus as a Soprano 1. She has studied under her voice coach John Hacker for the past two years and was awarded Superior Vocalist by Youseong Kim at Solo Ensemble Festival 2025. In regard to theater, Maggie has been in over 25 productions, predominantly musical theater. Some roles include Gertrude (Suessical), Marie(Cinderella), and Ursula (The Little Mermaid). Maggie also participates in Madrigals in the fall, a volunteer caroling troupe at BHS, and two A Capella groups at her high school, Premium Blend, and The Overtones, a co-ed group that competes at the varsity level.
Maggie is also an avid member of the arts outside of school, with three credentials in student directing. Through student directing, Maggie has aided in the following productions: SpongeBob Jr, Wizard of Oz Jr, and School House Rock Live Jr. She additionally directed this year’s spring play, Trap, at her high school and served as the Vocal Director and Music Arranger of Secret Garden, which took place in the fall at BHS. Through these experiences, Maggie has been able to work with both large groups and one on one lessons, allowing her to help the students grow not only as vocalists, but as performers, enabling them to maximize their potential stage presence.
